SS Fashion Roundup

We are heading into the Autumn/Winter season at full speed now, Summer literally left overnight and it got noticeably colder so quickly. Around the beginning of Spring/Summer, I had written a blog post of the trends that were going to be dominant throughout the seasons but I never got around to posting it. So instead of it going completely to waste, I am going to do a round up post of what trends have been around for Spring and Summer, and I have included some items that you can still get.

Stripes
Stripes were a big trend throughout SS17, they were all over the catwalks and they came in just about every form from Pinstripes seen at Mulberry to thick stripes to bold and bright - of which were particularly in. I have to confess, I don't actually own anything with stripes but it's because stripes never used to suit me and I've been too scared to try them again ever since.

Pink
It is no exaggeration when I say that I have seen pink EVERYWHERE during SS, and this one of the trends that I particularly loved and still do, it's still going strong and I am going to continue to wear pink. My favourite shade is the pastel tones, but I know the fuchsia tone was hot on the catwalks with Celine, Valentino along with others, and I am a big fan, but I feel like pastel pink is more for me and a bit more versatile.

Bralettes
Bralettes popped up countless times this year on the runway, I like putting a bralette with a high waisted skirt. For the coming months, I would maybe add a blazer or biker jacket to keep a little bit warmer, but definitely still rock them. I really loved some crochet ones that I have seen in various places and Celine featured them in their SS shows.

Ruffles
These were about last Autumn/Winter and they transitioned into the next season. Dolce & Gabbana had pretty, cute ruffles and floral prints which gave all the Summer feels. There were a whole variety of designs with different pieces of clothing including tea dresses and maxi dresses, with delicate ruffles and those floral prints that I mentioned on loose, flowing material. This was something you could really play with as you could dress it up or down.

Statement Sleeves
Forget just your standard hemmed sleeves, the bigger the better. Longer sleeves that come over the fingertips, with varying designs for a statement finish. Puffed sleeves or sleeves with ties at the end or, the whole way down the arm. My favourite are the fluted sleeves, big or small, I loved it during Spring/Summer and I will continue into the Autumn/Winter.

What was your favourite trend during Spring/Summer 2017?
