*Quick note, I wrote this earlier on in May and have only just been able to upload it, I really didn't want to change much in the opening paragraph so I hope you don't mind!
Yay, it's finally May! (Almost June, I know) May/June are probably my favourite months, the weather has been SO lovely this week! I really feel like Summer is coming as the vibes change and the mood lifts with the weather improving - it's a great feeling. April for me was a difficult month as I had little motivation, April is a transitional month, it can still be quite chilly and rainy and it really affects my mood, I'm just waiting for the next month. But now that is passing over and Summer is coming so I've set myself some goals to give me something to focus on.

Just before I get started this first section is a pretty long ramble, call it story time with Sophie, just a warning if you want to skip straight to the review! I'll begin now.

The past couple of weeks I have had really bad writers block and I feel like I haven't been able to come up with an idea good enough to publish, hence why I did not post anything last week and I am two days late this week - if you didn't know my usual posting day is Tuesday :). With the cloud that is writer's block now hopefully passing, I thought of quite a simple post for me to start off with, which is my top beauty products for a beginner. If you are new on the blogging scene and wanting to start building up that makeup collection, or if you are just starting to get into putting makeup on ya face and you're not quite sure what items you should start off with, then hopefully this post will help you out!

With Mother's Day coming up on Sunday 26th March (this Sunday!) I thought I'd come up with some suggestions of what to do and gifts to buy. I love Mother's Day, I really like to spoil my mum with gifts and treats, like my mum likes my homemade bakes so I try and bake a cake I know she likes. I've been browsing the internet for ideas for Mother's Day, so if you're a bit stuck for what to get your mum or maybe you want some extra ideas, then carry on reading!
For me Mother's Day is all about pampering, to make my mum feel calm and relaxed. A good thing to do with your mum would be a Spa Experience, book a weekend away at a posh spa for your mum and yourself, or book one or two treatments. You don't have to spend a lot of money, you could stay at home and create your own spa with some face masks and some other treatments. It's about spending quality time with your mum and having fun.
Breakfast in bed is a good one, so many people do this for their mum! I cook my mum breakfast and we sit together having our breakfast - it's a lovely start to the day, I keep it simple though, that's what my mum likes. I give her a menu of what to choose from and then I get the right 'ingredients' and cook it for her.
As I mentioned earlier I like to bake my mum her fave treat, try baking something for your mum even if baking is not your strong point it's the thought that counts, right?! Plus it's a perfect idea if you've left things until the last minute, quickly whip something up in the kitchen!
Right, onto gifts now, I have made a little gift guide of a selection of gift ideas ranging from candles and homeware to jewellery. Have a little look below at the treats I picked out.

Hello my lovelies, how was your weekend? It's starting to feel more like Spring and Easter will soon be here! *claps hands excitedly*
I have a March Wishlist of all the beauty items that I need (want), although I don't think I'll be making all these purchases this month as I will have no money left...
I love making lists I am always writing things down from what I need to do to wishlists of what I want, it just gets it all off my mind rather than having all the thoughts swirling around... Anyway, lets get on with the blog post.

It's already the end of February and we are into March, this month has gone by so quick I feel like I haven't had time to think about favourites. I have never done a monthly favourites, so I thought I'd start now and sit down, take a minute and collate some things together that I have been loving in the month of February.

Right, I know that the 'New Year's Resolutions' post is a distant memory for probably everyone as they have all posted, read and commented a moved on. I, however, haven't done too well with my blog so far this year... But! That is going to change, I have had these resolutions written down since the beginning of January post and it is now the end of February, think I may need to work on my reliability skills. I have been attempting some of my New Year's resolutions, and if you'll accept I'd like to still share them with you even though it is about 2 months late, so if you do, stick around and carry on reading!
